The EDC Student Travel Grant is designed to enable students from economically developing countries (EDC) attending ISB 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden. It entails up to five grants that each comes with a monetary support of up to AU$4.000 for covering the costs of attending ISB 2025.
Requirements: To be eligible for the award, a candidate must be enrolled as a graduate student at an institution that is located in an EDC and have submitted an abstract for ISB 2025 via the abstract submission system. Among the abstracts submitted, a committee of ISB council members will choose five contributions that will be awarded.
The application deadline is January 31st (CET). Please inform ISB EDC officer Daniel Hahn in case you want to apply for the EDC Student Travel Grant.
Following the congress, the EDC Student Travel Grant winners are expected to write a report for the ISB newsletter about their experience attending ISB 2025.
If you aim to apply for the EDC Student Travel Grant there will be a box in the abstract submission that you must tick that indicates that you have applied for the grant.
The Developing Countries Grant Competition (DCGC) is designed to award five research projects from EDC biomechanics groups with the purpose to incentive innovative and collaborative activities to develop biomechanics in EDC regions. It entails a certificate and five monetary awards of AU$2.000 each for scientific purposes. The five award winners are expected to give a presentation of their project at the ISB-congress of the same year.
Requirements: Any biomechanics researcher from an EDC is eligible to apply. The principal applicant must be a current financial member of ISB and applications can include non-EDC team members. The proposal must be developed in an EDC. Submit your application by email to Daniel Hahn according to the grant guidelines announced here and the proposal template.
The application deadline is February 28th (CET). Among the proposals submitted, a committee of ISB council members will choose five contributions that will be awarded.
Following the congress, the DCGC winners are expected to write a report for the ISB newsletter about their project and how the DCGC helped to support their project and to foster biomechanics in their EDC. Further, the DCGC award should be acknowledged in case of publication of research supported by the DCGC.
